DMCA Policy
Effective Date: June 5, 2025
Welcome to Storieslet, a space where creativity is honoured and originality is protected. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical storytelling, and that includes respecting the intellectual property rights of others.
This DMCA Policy outlines our procedures for reporting alleged copyright infringement, submitting counter-notices, and ensuring fair treatment of both complainants and contributors in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
1. Our Commitment to DMCA Compliance
At Storieslet.com, we follow the principles of the DMCA and maintain a zero-tolerance policy for copyright infringement. All stories — whether moral tales, bedtime stories, funny stories, fairytales, or horror narratives — are subjected to editorial checks as part of our broader Editorial Process.
In case any content hosted on our site is believed to be infringing upon the copyrights of a third party, we respond promptly and professionally to investigate and resolve the issue.
2. Responsibility of Story Submitters
All contributors to Storieslet are required to confirm the following before submission.
- Their stories are original, unpublished elsewhere, and written without the help of AI or automated tools
- In cases where classic material is reimagined, appropriate credit is given to the original author
- They fully agree to follow our Plagiarism Guidelines and adhere to the Content Integrity Policy
Any violation of these terms can lead to suspension or permanent banning from the platform.
3. How to File a DMCA Takedown Request
If you believe that content on Storieslet infringes your copyrighted work, you may submit a formal DMCA notice to our Designated Agent.
Your takedown notice must include
- Your full legal name or the name of the copyright holder you represent
- Contact information (email, phone number, and physical address)
- A description of the copyrighted work in question
- The specific URL(s) on Storieslet where the infringing material appears
- A good faith statement that the content is being used without your authorization
- A declaration under penalty of perjury that your claim is accurate and that you are the copyright owner (or authorized representative)
- Your electronic or physical signature
Please send your takedown request to
DMCA Agent Email: support@storieslet.com (replace with your official address)
Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will promptly investigate and, if appropriate, remove or disable access to the infringing content.
4. Filing a Counter-Notice
If you are a Storieslet contributor and believe that your story was wrongly removed due to a DMCA claim, you may submit a counter-notification.
Your counter-notice must include
- A clear identification of the material removed and its original location
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was an error or misidentification
- Your consent to jurisdiction in a relevant court of law
- Your electronic or physical signature
Counter-notices must be submitted to the same contact as the takedown notice above. If we receive a valid counter-notice and the original complainant does not initiate legal action within the statutory period, the removed content may be restored to the site.
5. Safe Harbor and Hosting Role
Storieslet operates as a content-hosting platform and qualifies for the DMCA’s Safe Harbor protections. While we conduct editorial reviews, we do not have the ability to proactively monitor all submitted content.
To remain compliant and protect our community, we rely on
- Prompt action upon receiving DMCA complaints
- Transparent and fair investigation procedures
- Reader and community feedback to identify violations
This approach helps us balance creative freedom with legal responsibility.
6. Consequences of Infringement
If any contributor is found guilty of copyright infringement,
- The contributor may receive a warning or temporary suspension.
- Repeated or severe violations will result in account termination and permanent removal from Storieslet.
- Legal action may be pursued if necessary.
Our top priority is to ensure a fair and ethical environment for both writers and readers.
7. Policy Updates
We may revise this DMCA Policy as needed. All changes will be posted on this page without prior notice. Contributors and readers are encouraged to revisit this page periodically to remain informed.
